He worked in Zurich, Geneva and London and was the Head Global Markets Sales for Switzerland at BNP Paribas. In 2014, he successfully co-launched dakuro GmbH, a Swiss SME focusing on health and safety equipment. For more than seven years, he has been an active venture capital investor in various startups, mainly in the technology sector. Daniel holds an M.A. in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen (HSG).

Colinne S. Bartel

Colinne S. Bartel is the owner of AC Innovation GmbH. AC Innovation serves as a marketing and business development catalyst for entrepreneurs. As chief project manager, Ms. Bartel was responsible for capital expenditures and acquisition integration for an Advent International portfolio company that executed one of the fastest growing telecommunications buy & build projects in Europe. After finalizing her MBA and a research trip in East Africa in 2002, Colinne joined McKinsey & Company. Ms. Bartel holds a B.A. in Political Science from University of California, Los Angeles, an M.A. in International Relations from the Claremont Graduate School and a dual MBA in Strategy and Finance from The Peter F. Drucker School of Management and the EDHEC Business School. Her passions are sports, the arts and cultural exchange.

Diego Föllmi ist seit 2013 Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung, seit 2014 im Investment-Komitee und seit fast zwei Jahren Partner bei Hérens Quality Asset Management, einer auf „Quality Investing“ spezialisierten Asset Management Boutique in Pfäffikon SZ. Dr. Jackson Janes

The German Marshall Fund of the United States
Jackson Janes is senior fellow at the German Marshall Fund and president emeritus of the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies at the Johns Hopkins University in Washington, DC, where he has been affiliated since 1989. Dr. Janes has been engaged in German-American affairs in numerous capacities over many years. He has studied and taught in German universities in Freiburg, Giessen, and Tübingen. He was the director of the German-American Institute in Tübingen (1977-1980) and then directed the European office of The German Marshall Fund of the United States in Bonn (1980-1985). Before joining AICGS, he served as director of Program Development at the University Center for International Studies at the University of Pittsburgh (1986-1988). He was also chair of the German Speaking Areas in Europe Program at the Foreign Service Institute in Washington, DC, from 1999-2000 and president of the International Association for the Study of German Politics from 2005-2010.
Dr. Janes is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and the Atlantic Council of the United States. He serves on the advisory boards of the Berlin office of the American Jewish Committee, Beirat der Zeitschrift für Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik (ZfAS), the Robert Bosch Foundation Alumni Association, and the American Bundestag Intern Network (ABIN) in Washington, DC. He is a member of the board of the German American Fulbright Commission and serves on the Selection Committee for the Bundeskanzler Fellowships for the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He is a member of the Cosmos Club in Washington DC.
Dr. Janes has lectured throughout Europe and the United States and has published extensively on issues dealing with Germany, German-American relations, and transatlantic affairs. In addition to regular commentary given to European and American news radio, he has appeared on CBS, CNN, C-SPAN, PBS, CBC, and is a frequent commentator on German television. Dr. Janes is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Education. In 2005, Dr. Janes was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, Germany’s highest civilian award.

Laura Merlini

CAIA Association
Laura Merlini, CAIA is Managing Director EMEA for the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association. Laura joined the CAIA Association in March 2012 with over seven years of business development and sales experience throughout Europe in the alternative investments industry mainly in the areas of fund set-up, administration, banking and custody. She formerly worked at Credit Suisse (previously Fortis Prime Fund Solutions) in Milan, Madrid and Geneva. She earned the CAIA charter in 2007 and has been an active CAIA proponent and member-volunteer. Laura co-founded the CAIA Iberia chapter (based in Madrid) in 2008 and she has led the Geneva committee of CAIA Switzerland since 2010. She is also a member of the Educational Committee of 100 Women in Hedge Funds Association in Geneva. Laura earned a BA in Business Administration at Bocconi University in Milan, received the CEMS MIM (Community of European Management Schools) MSc in International Management in 2002 and completed the Executive Master in Positive Psychology, Leadership and Strategy form IE, Madrid in 2014.

Heiko Nemmert

Baby Giant Hollyberg
Heiko Nemmert is one of the four founders of the international studio Baby Giant Hollyberg. As one of Baby Giant’s CEOs, he is responsible for overseeing the studio’s foreign affairs. He also co-manages the studio’s North-American business.

Heiko has over 20 years of experience in the media industry and managed several studios before co-founding Baby Giant. He helped produce numerous TV-programs and films for German public-service and private television. During his early career days, he gained valuable knowledge in the online sector, working for brands such as Coca Cola, Kellogg’s, and Motorola. Thanks to his deep understanding of the different media forms and distribution channels, he is a driving force in Baby Giant’s business development and technical development.

Oni Oviri

Sasare Associates
Oni is a global supply chain specialist and the founder and Director of Sasare Associates. As a result of having both public and private sector consulting experience in the UK and in sub-Saharan Africa, Sasare provides a platform to continue the transfer of knowledge and to help develop and build business supply chains in sub-Saharan Africa for small and large companies alike. Oni is an advisor to the British Government with regards to Brexit and supply chain issues.

Keith Phillips

The Investment Association
Keith is Executive Director at the Investment Association, the body that represents the £8trn UK asset management industry. Prior to this, he was Managing Director of Enterprise at the British Bankers Association and from January 2020 will be leading the initiative to create a new global summit centre in the City of London.

Stefan Riße

Stefan Riße ist Kapitalmarktstratege bei der ACATIS Investment Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH. Bereits im Alter von 17 Jahren lernte er den im September 1999 verstorbenen Börsenaltmeister André Kostolany kennen, mit dem ihn bis zu dessen Tod eine enge Freundschaft verband. Bekannt wurde Stefan Riße aber vor allem wegen seiner Berichte für „n-tv“, die von 2001 bis 2005 live vom Frankfurter Börsenparkett gesendet wurden. Auch heute ist er dort regelmäßiger Interviewpartner. Sein Buch „Die Inflation kommt!“ war eines der erfolgreichsten Wirtschaftsbücher im Jahr 2010. Seit Mai 2018 ist er bei der ACATIS Investment vor allem für Vorträge, Fondspräsentationen und Kapitalmarktnachrichten zuständig.

Alexander Stoeckel

Philip Morris International, PM Equity Partner – Director Venture Capital
Alexander has an academic background in business & administration. He studied International Management at the European Business School (EBS) and the International School of Management (ISM), and he holds an MBA from the University of Oxford (2006). He started his career in 2001 as a fund-of-fund manager at the private bank Hauck & Aufhaeuser and then joined KPMG in 2002 as personal assistant to the Global Managing Partner for Tax. After his MBA, Alexander started to work at the Swiss-based venture capital firm BrainsToVentures (b-to-v) as an Investment Manager in 2007. He was appointed as Principal in 2012, Partner in 2013, and Board Member in 2014. Alexander acts as a guest lecturer for MBA & EMBA courses hosted at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. In 2019, Alexander decided to join Philip Morris International as Director for Venture Capital. Alexander is the Head of PM Equity Partner (https://www.pmequitypartner.com/), the corporate venture capital arm of Philip Morris International.

Dr. Louise Tumchewics

Centre for Historical Analysis and Conflict Research, British Army
Dr. Louise Tumchewics has a PhD in War Studies from King’s College London, focusing on improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and policy responses to unconventional weapons. She is a senior research fellow at the British Army’s Centre for Historical Analysis and Conflict Research, where she works on capability requirements and force development, including a new approach to urban operations. Louise is presently writing a history of the IED, and has spoken on defence topics at various international for a, including the United Nations.

Joachim von Halasz

VON HALASZ Consulting
Joachim von Halasz has over 20 years of experience in financial services, investor relations and global media relations. He specialises in strategic cross border introductions and market entry advise in the asset management and wealth management sectors. He maintains strong networks between London, Frankfurt, Zurich and Geneva and is fluent in German and French. He is the founder of the Tuesday Club, a think tank with global reach, focusing on political risk and asset allocation.
Before setting up VON HALASZ Consulting in 2010, he worked in house for four financial PR and Investor Relations consultancies: Brunswick, Citigate Dewe Rogerson, Smithfield Financial and College Hill. Joachim was born and raised in Frankfurt and has been living in London for more than 20 years. He has a degree in Philosophy and Theology from Jesuit Colleges at Frankfurt and London universities.

Bernhard Wenger

State Street Global Advisors
In his current position Bernhard Wenger is country manager for State Street Global Advisors and Head of SPDR ETFs in Switzerland.
In previous roles Bernhard was Head of European Distribution at ETF Securities and held senior positions at Morgan Stanley, HSBC and BNP Paribas. Bernhard holds a „European Master in Management“ of ESCP Europe (Paris, Oxford, Berlin).

Getting there by public transport:
Taking the TGV from Paris, you will arrive in Lausanne in just 3 hours and 40 minutes. The Swiss railway network is exceptionally well developed and links Lausanne with all the major cities of the country. Lausanne Palace is 500 metres away from the main station and just a stone’s throw away from the “Lausanne Flon” stop of the “M2”, Switzerland’s only underground. The latter runs roughly every 5 minutes every day of the week.

Art Loss Register

The Art Loss Register (www.artloss.com) is the world’s largest private database of stolen, looted and missing art, antiques and collectibles, currently listing over 500,000 items. Registrations include stolen, missing, and looted works, as well as those subject to title disputes, freezing orders, and financial liens. Founded in 1990, it is the established art due diligence service used by the art trade, the insurance industry, law enforcement, lenders, museums, and collectors. For these clients, the Art Loss Register conducts around 400,000 searches each year to ensure objects are cleared in pre- or post-transaction due diligence or as part of an inventory check. Along with the database checks, the Art Loss Register’s specialists researchers review the provenance of items with a specific focus on Nazi-looting and recent theft and looting of antiquities. Through the checks, the Art Loss Register has identified and recovered items worth hundreds of millions of pounds.
